UVSS Working Principle

Under Vehicle Surveillance System (UVSS) holds an indispensable and prominent position in the security industry. It is a system designed to secure premises by enabling thorough inspection of the underside of vehicles. As a vehicle approaches a secure checkpoint, it is directed to pass over a UVSS scanning platform. This platform is strategically placed at the entrance or exit of high-security areas such as airports, government buildings, military bases, or border crossings.

UVSS platform is equipped with high-resolution cameras, often paired with infrared or LED lighting, to capture detailed images of the vehicle’s undercarriage. The system automatically activates as the vehicle moves over the platform, ensuring continuous image capture without disrupting the flow of traffic.

UVSS assists security personnel in inspecting the undercarriage of a vehicle. UVSS manufacturers have also designed and developed security cameras to identify potential threats that may be present under the vehicle. For critical applications like border crossings, the primary objective is to check for possible illegal movement of vehicles. Using handheld mirrors in such scenarios may not be effective, and important details could be missed. Therefore, having a UVSS provides a clear and comprehensive view of the vehicle’s undercarriage.
